Gertie The Yurtie
On the way
We set off on our way stretching an 8 hour road trip into an 11 hour journey. The kids did a really great job living in the car. Finn had a hard bit for the first hour until he realized this was his fate. Our first stop was at this little 'fairy' rest area. We went down to the waters edge and jumped from stump to stump.
There was a beautiful sandy area right along the highway that we pulled off us to play in the water. Damon and I lamented the fact that we aren't independently wealthy and can't just play as long as we want whenever we want, along the way. There were so many hiking trails, rafting adventures, small towns to explore. It would have been so fun to stretch our drive into a week to be able to explore all the things.

The kids were so hyper tired when we finally arrived. Indie settled into the Yurt organizing and planning all the things, while I played outside with the Littles.
We laid in the big bed together singing songs before going to sleep and looking up at the sky. It was one of those beautiful moments, you want to hold onto. Never mind that getting to that moment was a lot of work. The kids all grumbled about having to come snug in our bed, which we thought they'd be tickled to do. They all just wanted their own bed. Le sigh.
We were all bummed to leave in the morning. It was such a cozy place. Magical for sure.
