Blessing Indie

     September 28th at my grandparents home we blessed Indie Alexis Hadfield.  She had been the most fussy that we've ever seen her the day before and of her blessing. Which for Indie isn't saying much, because even her most fussy is easily subdued and still quite polite. She grunted and whined all morning, just didn't seem content, but as soon as Damon took her in his arms and began the blessing, she quieted down and remained calm and happy the rest of her special day. 

      I can't help but wonder that if for a little one, coming so new from Heavenly Father, being able to feel the spirit in an extra abundance during her blessing helped calm her.  That's my speculation though, who knows. The veil might be so thin for babies already that they always have that extra companionship of the Holy Ghost. 

      I am so proud and grateful that Damon holds and is worthy of his priesthood so that our family can be blessed and strengthened. Here are a few things Indie was blessed with.  (If I had to go back and pick a theme for her blessing it would definitely be 'a personal relationship with Christ'  everything centered around that.  But then again, what doesn't center around Christ?) 

Indie was blessed with:

A love of knowledge and books

a healthy mind, body, & spirit

to be an example

to be close to Christ and bring others to him through the way she lived

to have charity and to help others

to help her parents (especially with younger siblings)

to develop her talents

to find a worthy man to marry and be sealed in the temple (and carry on a Christ centered home)

to use her trials to draw closer to Christ

    It was so special  to get a 'sneak peek' into Indies sweet spirit and realize, again, how blessed we are to have this sweet little girl from Heavenly Father.  It definitely makes Damon & I feel a pull to become all that we can be so we can help her become everything she can be, and so she can be blessed with everything Heavenly Father has in store for her.
